Design Technology
Weastec utilizes all of its resources to get product from concept into mass
productions expeditiously as possible, always designing with quality, cost,
ease of assembly, and durability in mind. The latest 3D modeling software
is applied in our design process to minimize design time, increase accuracy,
and eliminate costly delays.
Along with our Japanese parent company, Toyo Denso, we have complete product
development capabilities allowing Weastec to move from conceptual design to
prototyping to validation testing to mass production. Some of our test /analysis
equipment include:
- Thermal Cycling chambers
- Humidity chambers
- SEM
- High Temperature ovens
- Salt Spray Chamber
- Bench Test equipment
- X-Ray machine
- CMM
- Optical Comparator
In addition we also incorporate different prototyping techniques both
in-house and from outside suppliers to get samples to our customers as soon
as possible for evaluation and testing.
Designers always incorporate ease of assembly and functionality into their
designs while ensuring high reliability, low cost, and impeccable quality.

Information Technology
Weastec understands that information systems serve as a very important
technology in the success of a global business.
The information systems at Weastec are built around one of the industry’s leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software applications called XA,
marketed by Infor. The ERP product consists of many functionally deep and fully
integrated modules. Weastec first installed this ERP system in 1991 and has
continued to add modules as needs arise.
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) needs are supported using Infor’s Auto Release modules. These modules interface directly to Infor XA minimizing redundant data.
An asset management system called Avantis XA from Invensys is used to
support areas of asset tracking, machine maintenance, MRO material usage
and inventory, and requisition of maintenance material. This system also
interfaces directly to Infor XA.
Weastec’s also hosts its own website, e-mail system and in-house
developed Notes applications. An LPAR environment is used on an
IBM i5 model 525-0909 to house the above applications.
Additionally, Weastec uses eight IBM xSeries servers to support over 120
networked PC’s. The computers at Greenfield, Ohio and Dublin,Ohio are
connected to Hillsboro, Ohio using dedicated metro fiber communication lines.
These communication lines not only support data but also voice and
fax transmission.
Weastec continues to review information technology as it becomes available
and looks for areas that it can be used to effectively support the growing needs
of our customers.
